Brilliant press articles (thank you East Fife Mail!) have helped the Levenmouth Whale Project collect 168 signatures to date (29 June) on its online petition and a total of 40 members. Our revamped website has had over 75,000 hits in 18 days.
Now we need your help – please share the Great Whale Petition with your family and friends, and especially on your social media: facebook, twitter, instagram. Every signature counts. Just like the Levenmouth Rail Campaign we have to show future funders whale-sized support for the project.
While the coronavirus has forced all our activities online in the last few months, we’re busy making plans to take our cause and petition to the people of Levenmouth as soon as the lifting of lockdown allows. We’re putting together a brand new brochure and stall materials. We’re very excited that our first appearance will be at the Levenmouth Street Market on July 18th. Save the date and be sure to come and say hello!
We’ve also put in a funding application to the Fife Charities Trust for a small grant to cover some of our publicity expenses.
Our larger focus at the moment is a feasibility study: what it should cover, and how we fund it. Members are making inquiries on multiple fronts.
We’re anxious to keep up the momentum so the action committee has committed to meeting weekly at 7pm on Wednesdays via zoom. Our 1st July meeting will focus on organising our appearance at the Levenmouth Street Market, while they 8 July will be looking at funding sources.
Everyone is welcome at our meetings. You don’t have to be a member of the action committee.
If you feel you have something to contribute or you just want to see what we are up to, do zoom in!
For details of how to join a Wednesday zoom meeting, please email our chair Eugene Clarke; firstname.lastname@example.org or give him a call on 07790 881760.
